In that case we will surely live "good" lives here on Earth. Unfortunately we are still human and we will stumble, but overall his glory will shine through!Bill Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13653854818275657368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1899592838279130063.post-31144020136234606442011-08-29T17:15:37.276-07:002011-08-29T17:15:37.276-07:00Thanks, Bill. He's not insecure at all, He's confident.

But it's more than just an issue of heaven and hell. It's also about how we live today, on earth that matters.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01021888227904891627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1899592838279130063.post-75706039890987592722011-08-29T16:26:42.181-07:002011-08-29T16:26:42.181-07:00Ted,
You hit on one of the profound truths about C...Ted,
You hit on one of the profound truths about Christ in your post, one that it took me a long time to understand. God made us with complete and total free will, he will not force anyone to do or believe anything. Along with this freedom comes the ability to choose to walk away from him. Everyone is free to listen to his moral teachings and make their own decision, but if you do not accept him as your savior you will go to hell. It doesn't matter how much "good" you do, it only matters if you accept Christ as your savior. God does not want anyone to perish, but he will not force you to believe.Bill Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13653854818275657368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1899592838279130063.post-3800827013549337272011-08-26T17:34:34.073-07:002011-08-26T17:34:34.073-07:00We don't deify Christ to validate his teaching...We don't deify Christ to validate his teaching, we deify him based on who He is.

You can believe his moral teachings all you like, but you can not believe His words without deifying him because by His words He stated that He is God.

You are free to reject that, but if you do, it follows that you think him a liar when He claimed He was God. You may wish to follow the moral teachings of someone you proclaim is a pathological liar, but I will find that stance a bit odd.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01021888227904891627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1899592838279130063.post-66304719024550561092011-08-26T10:45:40.406-07:002011-08-26T10:45:40.406-07:00The black and white argument that if we believe in...The black and white argument that if we believe in Jesus' words/moral teachings then we MUST believe that he is GOD is naive. I will akin his or whoever introduction of his moral teaching as an adult teaching a child. As a child maybe you have to either believe that the adult is supreme or what they taught you is false however why can't we be a teenager, see the moral teachings, question how and why we should follow it and then except it or reject it but not deify someone or something to validate the teaching.Kinzlayerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16001395426828520653noreply@blogger.com
